This weekend I am "artist in residence" at Trinity and St Philips Cathedral, Newark NJ. The story of the weekend is Nicodemus visiting Jesus under the cover of darkness. What happens when we seek out God in secret, with questions we think we aren't allowed to ask? And what was Jesus doing with all those birth metaphors?
Does God demand that we move into the light as fast as possible? Or is it closer to the truth to say that we meet God in the darkness and the shadows?
What happened next for Nicodemus?
