Time to drive son to school exam
hall. Have to persuade him to put on extra layers, do his coat up, and
wear the hat that is not "cool" so that we can walk to the car without getting frostbite.
"Is it really that cold out, Mum?"
"Coldest you've been in since you went to Norway, when you were so young you don't remember it."
"Colder than when we went to Quebec?"
"Colder than that."
Son puts on hat. We go out. Silence.
Son: "It's really bitter out here..."
